The Role
As we scale the production and international delivery of our cargo drones, we are looking for a hands-on Logistics & Shipping Manager to take ownership of incoming and outgoing goods, international shipments and dangerous goods logistics.
You will organize the transport of drones, components, spare parts and lithium batteries within Europe and worldwide. You will ensure that shipments are correctly planned, packed, documented and executed in compliance with applicable transport and customs requirements.
This is a broad, operational role. In addition to shipping, you will support goods receiving, inventory accuracy, warehouse organization and material flow to production. When needed, you will also work alongside the production team with picking, kitting, packaging and hands-on manufacturing activities.
We are looking for someone who is highly organized, practical and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and a “get it done” spirit.
What you will do
- Plan and coordinate domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments
- Select and coordinate freight forwarders, couriers and transport partners
- Prepare shipping, customs and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin
- Organize dangerous goods shipments, particularly lithium batteries, in accordance with applicable ADR, IATA DGR and, where relevant, IMDG requirements
- Ensure the correct classification, packaging, marking, labelling and documentation of dangerous goods
- Coordinate dangerous goods topics with carriers, freight forwarders, the company’s Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser and other external specialists
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities, condition and accompanying documentation
- Record goods receipts, stock movements and shipment information accurately in Odoo
- Coordinate shipments of drones, batteries, spare parts, tools and equipment to customers and operational teams
- Manage returns, repairs and replacement shipments
- Monitor transport costs, delivery performance and recurring logistics issues
- Develop and maintain logistics, warehouse and dangerous goods procedures within the FlyingBasket Quality Management System
- Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve shipping, receiving and material-flow processes
- Support drone assembly, packaging and other production activities when required
What you bring
- At least three years of experience in logistics, shipping, warehousing or supply-chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Practical experience preparing international shipments and working with freight forwarders and carriers
- Experience shipping dangerous goods, particularly lithium batteries
- Knowledge of ADR and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations relevant to the shipper’s responsibilities
- Current dangerous goods training or certification appropriate to the role, or the ability to complete the required training immediately
- Experience preparing customs and export documentation
- Good understanding of Incoterms, commodity codes and import/export processes
- Experience using an ERP or inventory-management system; experience with Odoo is an asset
- A structured and detail-oriented working style, with a strong focus on safety and compliance
- A hands-on mindset and willingness to support warehouse and production activities
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
- English minimum at B2 level
- Italian minimum at B2 level
- Valid work permit for Italy (EU)
